Proclamation
| WHEREAS, |
Entrepreneurs Week honors men and women of all enterprises and disciplines - from those in the intial stages of idea-crafting, to the established firms that exercise the capacity for incessant innovation; and |
| WHEREAS, |
entrepreneurs make a significant and lasting contribution to the economy of Providence, help increase opportunities for local residents, and raise of our overall quality-of-life; and |
| WHEREAS, |
ninety percent of the economic base of the City of Providence is built by independent businesses, thereby giving longevity and real meaning to the inaugural entrepreneur of our community, Roger Williams, who embarked on his own "bold and lively experiment"; and |
| WHEREAS, |
entrepreneurs help maintain the spirit and character of the City of Providence and all along have helped us be the independent-minded and forward-looking center of arts, culture and innovation we are today, the people of Providence salute entrepreneurs throughout this week, while extending our best wishes for their continued achievement in the years ahead; |
